Soccer Game Preview: Chowchilla vs. Caruthers

The Chowchilla Tribe will head out to square off against the Caruthers Blue Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Chowchilla is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Riverdale on Tuesday. Chowchilla took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Riverdale. While losing is never fun, the Tribe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 713th, while the Cowboys are ranked 317th).

Caruthers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They beat Liberty by a goal, winning 3-2.

Chowchilla has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5-3 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five contests. As for Caruthers, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
