Softball Recap: Phillipsburg Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Phillipsburg can now relate to. They fell just short of the Columbia Cougars by a score of 3-1 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Stateliners couldn't push the score so high this time.

Phillipsburg has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Columbia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-5.

As of now, neither Phillipsburg nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
