Softball Recap: Midwest Central/Illini Central Takes a Loss

Midwest Central/Illini Central was the 1-0 winner over Heyworth when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets on Tuesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Meeks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Addison Friedrich was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Midwest Central/Illini Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Heyworth, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Midwest Central/Illini Central is taking a road trip to face off against Havana at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heyworth, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. The last three games the Vikings have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
