The Durango Demons will head out to challenge the Palmer Ridge Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Durango sitting on five straight wins and Palmer Ridge on six.
Durango is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Rampart 47-7. Given the Demons' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Rams are ranked 137th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grady Feeney produced another solid effort rushing for 156 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes. Those 156 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Dawson McInnes made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Durango proved: they limited Rampart to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Ayden Casias for the heroic effort on defense: he. Durango didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.5.
Durango's defense didn't let Carter Deeds, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Carson Palmer was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. McInnes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, while Palmer Ridge put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Air Academy. The Bears blew past the Kadets, posting a 42-0 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bears just coasted through the last quarter.
Durango better keep an eye on Cole Harris. He was instrumental in Palmer Ridge's win, throwing for 255 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Michael Toth, who picked up 37 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Durango's record now sits at 5-1. As for Palmer Ridge, their record is now 6-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Durango has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 196.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Palmer Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 222.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Durango couldn't quite finish off Palmer Ridge in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 24-21. Thankfully for the Demons, Avier Elvira (who rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
