Football Recap: Forrest County Agricultural Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Forrest County Agricultural can now relate to. They were beaten by the Poplarville Hornets 49-20 on Friday. The Aggies haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Forrest County Agricultural's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Walker, who threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Forrest County Agricultural's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ethan Norman, Carter Bourque, and Tanner Jarrell, who each picked up one sack apiece. Forrest County Agricultural got some further help from Trevaughn Robinson: he made 23 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Tylan Keys produced another solid effort rushing for 287 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.0 yards per carry for Poplarville. That's the most rushing yards Keys has posted since back in September.

Forrest County Agricultural's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Poplarville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Forrest County Agricultural does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poplarville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-34 win against Forest on the 14th.
