Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Houston's Winning Streak

Houston and Blooming Prairie squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Houston had to settle for second. They fell 56-45 to the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 69-52 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2020.

Loss or not, Houston got some senior leadership from Morgan Rohweder and Carter Geiwitz. Rohweder almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards, while Geiwitz dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Rohweder has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 15 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Olson, who posted three points and five steals.

The defeat snapped Houston's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-9 record. As for Blooming Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Houston nor Blooming Prairie have any future games scheduled.
