Volleyball Recap: Northwest's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Northwest suffered their biggest defeat since September 18th on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to Waverly. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Waverly this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

While Northwest ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-21.

Ava Janulewicz paced Northwest's offense, picking up 12 kills. Janulewicz got some help from Kenna Bowman and her 25 assists. Janulewicz also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Halle Rice, each putting up two.

Among those leading the charge was Ansley Real, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Northwest's loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 23-11. As for Waverly, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-5.

Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waverly, they will face off against Gretna at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
