Basketball Recap: Elkin Comes Up Short

Elkin won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They lost 69-48 to the South Stokes Sauras. The Buckin' Elks haven't had much luck with the Sauras recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Elkin now has a losing record at 7-8. As for South Stokes, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Elkin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elkin is facing West Wilkes at the right time seeing as West Wilkes is stuck on a four-game losing streak. South Stokes has already played their next contest (against Alleghany), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
