Soccer Game Preview: Bonita Springs vs. Island Coast

The Bonita Springs Bullsharks will take on the Island Coast Gators in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bonita Springs has seven straight wins, Island Coast has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Bonita Springs gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Canterbury.

Bonita Springs hit Canterbury with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Denver Melton, Miki Gomez, and Carson McManaway.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Island Coast's offense. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting North Fort Myers an easy 4-0 win.

Bonita Springs' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Island Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything went Bonita Springs' way against Island Coast in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as Bonita Springs made off with a 5-1 win. Will Bonita Springs repeat their success, or does Island Coast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
