Basketball Recap: Weaver Snaps 14-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Weaver entered their match against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Weaver Beavers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Jets. The Beavers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Richard Chandler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, going 7 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and eight boards. Angel Vazquez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Weaver's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6. As for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Weaver will take on Northwest Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Academy of Aerospace and Engineering has already played their next game, a 70-40 victory against Suffield on the 30th.
