Last Friday, McPherson beat Augusta 73-65. Given the Bullpups' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Orioles are ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Circle narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Buhler 70-68. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.

Circle's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for McPherson, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

McPherson took their win against Circle in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 62-36. Will McPherson repeat their success, or does Circle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
