Baseball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rancho Bernardo walked away with it. They skirted past the Point Loma Pointers 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Pointers last Saturday, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Brayden Kotera tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, HUGO GONZALEZ was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Rancho Bernardo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Point Loma, they moved to 22-13-1 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Rancho Bernardo nor the Pointers have any future games scheduled.
