Recap: Oak Park-River Forest Huskies vs. Downers Grove North Trojans
The Oak Park-River Forest Huskies lost against the Downers Grove North Trojans back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Oak Park-River Forest had to suffer through a rough 67-21 loss at the hands of the Trojans. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oak Park-River Forest in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Oak Park-River Forest saw an underclassman step up: Gabriella Chesney scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chesney has scored all season.
Kaitlyn Parker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Downers Grove North, scoring 19 points along with two steals. Parker hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Lizzy Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Oak Park-River Forest has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which lines up perfectly with their 5-20 record this season. As for Downers Grove North, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Park-River Forest will play host again and welcome the Panthers, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Downers Grove North, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
