The ESAT Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. Their tough 57-35 loss to Academia Avance might stick with them for a while. ESAT was down 49-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Niel Gabriel Sanchez, who scored 16 points. Sanchez hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Vasquez, who scored 12 points.

ESAT's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Academia Avance, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ESAT will square off against the Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. East College Prep will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Academia Avance, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulls at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alliance Bloomfield is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
