Augusta Eagles knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Providence Athletic Cluv likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Augusta Eagles had no problem doing just that two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 52-6 victory over Harvest Christian Academy at home. Augusta Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Augusta Eagles got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Thompson out in front who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. John Craine was in the mix too, providing Augusta Eagles with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a string of 13 wins, Providence Athletic Cluv's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were outmatched by Evangel Christian on the road and fell 49-14.
The losing side was boosted by Cameron Youmans, who rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Youmans really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.
Augusta Eagles has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.7 points per game. As for Providence Athletic Cluv, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Augusta Eagles and Providence Athletic Cluv haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Augusta Eagles commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.8 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Providence Athletic Cluv struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6.2 per game.
