Volleyball Recap: Rena Harow Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

Columbus Torah Academy barely beat Ohio School for the Deaf the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

One reason for the win was Columbus Torah Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.

Columbus Torah Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rena Harow, who had nine aces and two blocks. Those nine aces gave Harow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mimi Myers, who had eight aces.

They weren't the only good server: Columbus Torah Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 28 aces. They served 18 more aces than Ohio School for the Deaf's also-impressive total of ten.

Columbus Torah Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coincidentally, Columbus Torah Academy and Ohio School for the Deaf will both be playing Varsity Opponent the next time they take the court. The Lions will host Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
