Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Bulls vs. Fivay Falcons

There's no place like home for the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fivay by a score of 40-33 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wiregrass Ranch also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Solei Sowell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Anabella Nieves, who scored six points.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordana Montaner Rodgers, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Montaner Rodgers scored a full 45.5% of Fivay's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Melany Garcia was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.

Wiregrass Ranch's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Fivay, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wiregrass Ranch will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pasco at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Fivay will be home for the holidays to greet Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
