Volleyball Recap: Eastside's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Eastside's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the James F. Byrnes Rebels by a score of 3-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 16, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Eastside had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-19.

Collin Jones paced Eastside's offense, picking up 12 kills. Jones got some help from Jonas Kelsey and his 35 assists. Jones also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Owen Hamric, each putting up two.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will challenge Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for James F. Byrnes, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Southside at 5:00 p.m.
