American posted their biggest win since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Keys Gate Knights with a sharp 63-41 victory. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Knights are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

American's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Garcia, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and three steals. Gabriel Sao-Pagan was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

American was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keys Gate only racked up 12 assists.

Despite the loss, Keys Gate still got an impressive performance from Ethan Bell, who posted 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Terrance Shannon Jr, who had ten points.

American is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Keys Gate, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

American will be playing in front of their home fans against True North Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Keys Gate, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-49 win against JC Bermudez Doral on the 20th.
