Softball Game Preview: St. Paul's Episcopal Saints vs. Citronelle Wildcats

The St. Paul's Episcopal Saints will challenge the Citronelle Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

St. Paul's Episcopal took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Citronelle a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ava Voris made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyndal Raines, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Fancy Malone was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. Paul's Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Citronelle, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
