Basketball Recap: Destiny Christian Comes Up Short

Destiny Christian lost against Sunrise Christian Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Destiny Christian Wildcats took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 208th in Oklahoma, while the Buffaloes are ranked 21st in Kansas).

Destiny Christian's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-10. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

Coming up, Destiny Christian will welcome Crooked Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunrise Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Wichita HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wichita HomeSchool will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Sunrise Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
