Baseball Recap: Carrboro Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Carrboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Spartans last Tuesday, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Joe Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has become a key player for Carrboro: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise.
