Football Game Preview: Monte Vista Monarchs vs. Fallbrook Warriors + Official Tickets

The Monte Vista Monarchs will challenge the Fallbrook Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Monte Vista is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Grossmont two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Monarchs lost 56-33 to the Foothillers. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Foothillers are ranked 236th).

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Fallbrook had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over Valhalla on Friday.

Monte Vista dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Fallbrook, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Monte Vista won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, slipping by Fallbrook 34-33. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Warriors' Evan Thomas, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 196 yards and three TDs. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Monarchs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
