Softball Recap: Davidson Has No Trouble Against Rain

While Davidson put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Rain. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Red Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.

Sophia Edmonson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Edmonson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Mar'Kayla Scott was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Bailey Hicks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Davidson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rain, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davidson will take on Vigor at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rain, they will challenge UMS-Wright Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
