Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. Mineral Ridge Rams

For the second straight game, Springfield will face off against Mineral Ridge. The Tigers will head out to face off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Springfield fell victim to Mineral Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 1-0.

For Mineral Ridge's part, not much got past Xavier Klamer, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Springfield off the board. Klamer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mineral Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Gillie, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The win was the third in a row for Mineral Ridge, bringing their record up to 7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
