Basketball Game Preview: Port Allen Pelicans vs. University Lab Cubs

Port Allen hasn't had much luck against University Lab recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Port Allen Pelicans are taking a road trip to face off against the University Lab Cubs at 5:30 p.m. University Lab took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Port Allen, who comes in off a win.

Port Allen is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They took down Collegiate 48-32 on Tuesday.

University Lab has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Parkview Baptist.

Port Allen's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-12. As for University Lab, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-2.

Port Allen took a serious blow against University Lab when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 69-7. Can Port Allen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
