Volleyball Recap: Alexander Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Alexander Central lost against Hickory back in August of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Red Tornadoes. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Alexander Central had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

Reagan Pierce paced Alexander Central's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pierce got some help from Makayla Williams and her 28 assists. Kymber Kelly controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Leading Hickory to victory were Ryan Hines and Ella Kate Stewart. Hines had five digs and two aces, while Stewart had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most aces Hines has posted over her last six matches.

Alexander Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Hickory, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-4.

Alexander Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Freedom on the 7th. As for Hickory, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bandys on the 9th.
