Baseball Recap: Rancho Verde Comes Up Short

Rancho Verde was the 11-4 winner over Hillcrest when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Rancho Verde Mustangs came up short against the Hillcrest Trojans on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rancho Verde saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Montolfo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Rancho Verde is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5. As for Hillcrest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rancho Verde beat Hillcrest by a score of 9-2 on Thursday.
