Basketball Game Preview: Stafford Spartans vs. Harmony School of Innovation Wildcats

The Stafford Spartans and the Harmony School of Innovation Wildcats will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stafford will be strutting in after a win while Harmony School of Innovation will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Stafford needed a bit of extra time to put away Royal. They managed a 53-49 victory over the Falcons.

Stafford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nydarria Brown led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in assists (five). Kennadie Peel was another key player, going 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points and five steals.

Stafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Harmony School of Innovation unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Almeta Crawford 94-7 on Friday.

Stafford's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Harmony School of Innovation, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
