Highland skates past Las Cruces with ease

The Highland Hornets lost to the Las Cruces Bulldawgs back in December of 2017, but the Highland Hornets didn't allow the Las Cruces Bulldawgs the same satisfaction on Saturday. Highland really took it to Las Cruces for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-46 win on the road. That looming 75-46 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Highland yet this season.

It was another big night for Jesus Licon, who went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 3 assists. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Stanford, who scored 18 points along with four steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Las Cruces, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland and Navajo Prep will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Las Cruces, they will head out on the road to face off against La Cueva at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday. La Cueva is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
