Baseball Recap: Eupora Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eupora can now relate to. They fell 8-4 to the East Union Urchins on Friday. The Eagles have struggled against the Urchins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Eupora got a good showing from Sean Gray, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Gray has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Macon Ballard made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Eupora's loss dropped their record down to 20-14. As for East Union, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-12.

As of now, neither Eupora nor the Urchins have any future games scheduled.
