New London scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Norwich Free Academy, 9-7. At the time, the Wildcats were ranked ninth in the state, while the Whalers were 46th.

New London's Danny Maranda and Jose Garcia* have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Maranda has thrown for 1,943 yards this season, while Garcia* has 45 catches for 797 yards. Stirten from East Lyme leads the league in rushing with 1,447 yards.
In 131 carries Marcus Outlow has put up 983 yards this year.
Rudy Bagos' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,131 from 7,493. The improvement was largely due to a 34-13 victory over the Lancers last week.
