Baseball Recap: Windermere Victorious

Windermere posted their closest win since February 27th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Timber Creek Wolves. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Windermere got a great performance from Oscar Fernandez as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Fernandez posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Windermere's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Diego Borjas, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Sebastian Vargas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Windermere's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Timber Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

Windermere does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Timber Creek, they will be playing at home against Colonial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grenadiers have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
