Softball Game Preview: Olivet Eagles vs. Charlotte Orioles

The Olivet Eagles will challenge the Charlotte Orioles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Olivet and 22 for Charlotte dating back to last season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Olivet's offense. They came up short against Napoleon on Friday, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Charlotte lost 18-3 to Ionia on Wednesday.

Gracie Ruttman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Simmons, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Olivet, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Everything went Olivet's way against Charlotte when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Olivet made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Orioles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
