Soccer Recap: Royal Comes Up Short

Royal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Camarillo Scorpions. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 862nd, while the Scorpions are ranked 212th).

Royal's loss dropped their record down to 1-9-2. As for Camarillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-1-2 record this season.

Royal wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Crespi on the 26th. As for Camarillo, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-1 draw against Hueneme on the 27th.
