Recap: Valley Regional Warriors vs. New Milford Green Wave
The Valley Regional Warriors lost against the New Milford Green Wave back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Valley Regional fell to New Milford 52-48.
When it comes to explaining why Valley Regional lost, one person who can't be blamed is Conor Quinn. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Driscoll, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
New Milford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kelvin Mendoza led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Ryder Gee was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Valley Regional bumped their record down to 1-1 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Milford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Regional will be home for the holidays to greet East Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Milford will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
