Basketball Recap: Clemens Falls Short of Harlan in the Playoffs

Clemens and Harlan squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Clemens had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Harlan Hawks by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Buffaloes have suffered since December 5, 2024.

Christian Dupree and Letrell Hoover certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Dupree dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Hoover dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards. Those 12 boards gave Dupree a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Bell, who posted nine points.

Even though they lost, Clemens smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Josiah Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Harlan, putting up 20 points. Another player making a difference was Kameron Williams, who earned 11 points.

Clemens' loss dropped their record down to 23-13. As for Harlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season.

Clemens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harlan, they have already played their next game, a 75-73 win against Stony Point on the 28th.
