It's playoff time, and Alton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 67-62 victory over the Waubonsie Valley Warriors on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Redbirds sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Waubonsie Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Danyella Mporokoso, who went 12-for-23 en route to 32 points and five rebounds. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least 22 points. Lily Newton was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

Alton's win bumped their record up to 33-2. As for Waubonsie Valley, they moved to 31-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 21-game winning streak.
