Softball Recap: Pe Ell/Willapa Valley Has No Trouble Against Rochester

Pe Ell/Willapa Valley barely beat Rochester the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley was the clear victor by a 15-6 margin over Rochester on Friday. The result was nothing new for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, who have now won eight matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Lauren Matlock was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Sophia Milanowski, who fired off two home runs while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pe Ell/Willapa Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with six home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pe Ell/Willapa Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Rochester, they moved to 10-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Pe Ell/Willapa Valley will head out on the road to face off against North Beach at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rochester, they will host Montesano at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
