Softball Recap: Archbishop Wood Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Hubert Catholic for Girls last Tuesday, Archbishop Wood came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 11-5 to the Central Bucks West Bucks on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled against the Bucks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Archbishop Wood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graciene Gale, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Archbishop Wood now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Central Bucks West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Wood will challenge Little Flower Catholic for Girls at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Little Flower Catholic for Girls has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.78 runs per game on average), something Archbishop Wood will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Central Bucks West, they will face off against Hatboro-Horsham at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Hatters have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
