Recap: Jeff Davis Yellowjackets vs. Thomson Bulldogs
The Jeff Davis Yellowjackets and the Thomson Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets had to settle for second. Jeff Davis was dealt a 40-0 loss at the hands of Thomson. While losing is never fun, Jeff Davis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Thomson is ranked 99th).
Thomson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Jeffery out in front who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Tyrikus Jones also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Jeff Davis has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Thomson, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Jeff Davis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Thomson will square off against Toombs County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Toombs County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
