Softball Game Preview: Randolph Southern Rebels vs. Wes-Del Warriors

Randolph Southern is 0-10 against Wes-Del since May of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Rebels will square off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Randolph Southern has given up an average of 21.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Randolph Southern is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Cowan, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wes-Del). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-14 victory over Southwood on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Keylie Byrd was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Marley Bertram, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Byrd wasn't the only one making solid contact: Wes-Del kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Wes-Del back to even at 3-3. As for Randolph Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Randolph Southern might still be hurting after the 22-0 defeat they got from Wes-Del in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
