While Effingham put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Mahomet-Seymour. The Hearts came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 2-0. The Hearts haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Natalie Armstrong, who gave up just four hits to keep Mahomet-Seymour off the board. Armstrong has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Effingham secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Jerzi Bierman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Effingham now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
