Soccer Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Southside after they claimed the first goal on Saturday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the MacArthur Brahmas by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Brahmas are ranked 119th).

Southside is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5-3. As for MacArthur, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 10-1-1 record this season.

Southside will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Harlandale at 7:15 p.m. As for MacArthur, they will take on South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
