Basketball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Winnebago Indians

The Rock Falls Rockets will square off against the Winnebago Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rock Falls has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 18.

Last Saturday, Rock Falls ended up a good deal behind North Boone and lost 46-32.

Despite their defeat, Rock Falls saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Elizabeth Lombardo, who posted 11 points along with five assists and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Lombardo a new career-high in assists. Miley Bickett was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Winnebago lost 65-39 to Stillman Valley on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

Rock Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Winnebago, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Rock Falls skirted past Winnebago 49-47 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Rock Falls repeat their success, or does Winnebago have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
