Baseball Recap: Mitchell Triumphs

While Mitchell's win against Mountain Heritage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountaineers skirted past the Cougars 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountaineers have posted since March 21, 2024.

Jacoby Dale was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Mitchell's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Mackey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The win got Mitchell back to even at 6-6. As for Mountain Heritage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Mitchell will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mountain Heritage: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
