Softball Recap: Loudoun County Captains vs. Freedom Eagles
While Loudoun County's win against Freedom wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Captains narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 4-3. The Captains haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Keira Bertoglio was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Loudoun County got a great performance from Madison Karschner as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
