Basketball Recap: Coventry Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Madalyn Matheney and Scarlet Dimeff

Coventry came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints by a score of 20-17 on Monday. The Comets just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Coventry's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Scarlet Dimeff, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, and Madalyn Matheney, who put up two points along with six boards and four blocks. That's the most points Dimeff has posted since back in January of 2024.

Nora Jackson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 points along with seven boards and six steals.

Coventry's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Coventry has already played their next contest (against Springfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tuscarawas Central Catholic is taking a road trip to square off against Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
