Baseball Recap: Richwood Wins Going Away Against Paden City

Richwood's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Paden City Wildcats. With that victory, the Lumberjacks brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Kaden Lane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Richwood is undefeated when Lane posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grady Hall, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Cameron Jenkins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

With the win, Richwood broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Paden City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
