Volleyball Recap: Catholic Central Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Catholic Central kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 2-0 to the Traverse City West Titans. The Cougars have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Catholic Central was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23.

Maddie Ostrander paced Catholic Central's offense, picking up six kills. Ostrander got some help from Cece Rybicki and her 11 assists. Cara Wolf controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

The win got Traverse City West back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Catholic Central and Traverse City West will both be playing Portage Central the next time they take the court. The Titans will host the Mustangs at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 10:30 a.m.
